Q: Does WPAF provide grants to individuals or organizations?
A: WPAF provides grants to organizations aligned with our mission, particularly those focused on youth education and community development. We currently do not provide grants to individuals.
Q: How do I apply for a grant from WPAF?
A: To apply, review the grant eligibility criteria on our website and submit an application during our open grant cycles. Our Grant Review Committee evaluates proposals based on alignment with our mission and potential community impact.
Q: Do chapters of the Western Province have to pay a fee to use the services of WPAF?
A: No, there is no administrative fee to utilize WPAF to support a local chapter. However, any fees resulting from a financial institution will be the responsibility of the chapter.
Q: Can chapters use WPAF for its charitable & educational program event fundraising activities?
A: Yes. Chapters are encouraged to establish a Donor Restricted Fund for their charitable and educational special event fundraisers that will benefit charitable and educational entities in your local community.
Q: Will donors who support local chapter events that are partnering with WPAF for charitable fundraising events receive an acknowledgement letter from WPAF?
A: Yes. A letter of acknowledgement and appreciation will be sent to each contributor to the extent their donation is tax deductible.
Q: Can chapters use the WPAF Dederal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) when contracting venues for fundraising events?
A: No. That is not the purpose of a Federal Employer Identification Number, and there are other liability issues concerning this matter. Moreover, chapters need to follow the Fraternity's insurance checklist protocol for coverage. Additionally, The WPAF’s FEIN cannot be used to defray sales tax.
Q: If WPAF does not charge an administrative fee to chapters, how does it have funds to operate?
A: The WPAF operates on volunteer hours from the members as well as unrestricted contributions from individual supporters, province chapters, the Fraternity, and public and private sector entities. We strongly encourage all that believe in our Vision & Mission Statements, those that use our services and those that believe in making a better future to make unrestricted donations to WPAF.
Q: How can my chapter receive a grant from the WPAF?
A: You may apply for a grant by completing a form (available upon request). If approved, funds will be sent with 72 hours. Chapters can also use this form to request funds from their restricted accounts.
